Knitting a Bear- How to make legs?
I'm making a garter stitch bear for the Mother Bear Project, and I'm not sure how to make the legs. I finished the torso, and I have to somehow divide that row in two to make legs, but I don't know how to do that.
I don't have double pointed needles. And how do you transfer stitches?
Are you following a pattern? I would imagine that you would use double pointed needles to do each leg. Find your center point at both the front and back, then transfer the stitches from one half onto waste yarn (or a stitch holder) and work the other half for one leg. Then transfer the unworked stitches onto the dpn and knit the second leg the same as the first.
