So...my boyfriend seems to be unusually thoughtful and sweet. Is this normal?
My boyfriend of about 4 months is incredibly sweet and very thoughtful. I've only had one boyfriend before him, who was a cheating scumbag (sorry, but it's the truth), and that relationship lasted for 4 years (unfortunately).
Anyway, my new guy always buys me jewelry, brought me a bouquet of roses yesterday, tells me I'm the most beautiful girl in the world, he loves me so much, calls me baby and sweetie, but doesn't smother me like the last one did. Now I've always been taught that guys do this because they want just one thing: sex. But he is incredibly respectful and has never made any sexual advances or even comments at all (it doesn't bother me though). Is this normal?
He's from another country, so maybe dating is a little different where he's from, but I thought that guys from all over the world were basically the same.
Just so everyone knows, I'm 18 and he's 19. This isn't some middle school relationship.
He sounds like a decent guy from the way you talk but it has only been four months so I would be careful a while longer but usually if he was one of those guys that just wants sex he would of tried to get you to have sex with him already. And yes a lot of times when a person is from a different culture they treat women or guys differently. I am a white male and have dated white, Cuban, and mixed girls and also know a couple of Filipino girls and the ones that have treat me the best are the Filipino woman. The ones that have treated me the worst are the Cubans, blacks, Mexicans, white (most but not all), and mixed (most but not all) girls. I have talked to many girls and they say the same thing about the guys and their cultures. If you look at where a person is from that tells you a lot about their background, and area,then you can figure out how much you should trust or not trust them. Also look at the persons parents and how they act and treat people that will also help. Watch and listen to see if there is drugs, alchol, violence possibilities. Your new boyfriend sounds like a very nice guy and as long as he keeps treating you the same way stay with him. But if he ever treats you bad, or if he is involved with drugs, alchohol, or violence then you want to get away while you still can and you can always run a background check on him to see if there's anything wrong or maybe something he is hiding from you and don't want you to know. HE SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT GUY THOUGH IF YOU HAVE BEEN WITH HIM FOR 4 MONTHS AND RESPECTS YOU AND HAVEN'T TRIED ANYTHING WITH YOU. He sounds a lot like me and I'd like to find me a girl that would treat me good so we could have a good relationship. And not all guys or girls are the same whether white, black, or another country, so if a relationship doesn't work out don't hold the what happened in the old relationship against the person in the new one because you may miss out on something wonderful.
