Measuring around 24,000 square kilometers, Sardinia is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. The coast of this Italian island stretches for 1,849 km, and the pearly white beaches often appear on top lists of the world's best beaches.
Numerous bays, isles, cliffs and a clear blue sea surround the island. Whether you visit Capo Testa in the top north, or Capo Teulada in the very south, amazing beaches are a guarantee. There are stunning diving spots. For example Capo Caccia or Asinara Island and the archipelago (and national park) of La Maddalena are breath taking. Let me share some of my favorite beaches around Sardinia with you.
Li Coggi Beach
This amazing beach is located in the North East of Sardinia, near Porto Cervo. A few golf courses and a beautiful harbor in a bay are nearby, as well as the amazing islands of Isole di li Nibani, which are part of the 'Parco Nazionale dell' Arcipelago di La Maddalena'.
Cala Gonone
On the east side of the country, about 10km from Dorgali, is a small town called Cala Gonone. The route from Dorgali to seaside town is beautiful, but the beaches and nature in Cala Gonone (the territory is part of the Gennargentu National Park) is maybe even more appealing.
Mortorio Island beach
Isla Mortoria is a small island (also part of National Park la Maddalena) in the North East of Sardinia, and can only be reached by boat. This ensures nearly empty, but beautiful beaches and a clear blue sea, which is a perfect place to go scuba diving.
La Maddalena
In the very North of Sardinia, near Olbia, is a town and commune located on an island with the same name; La Maddalena. The white beaches, clear blue sea and traditional folklore make La Maddalena (which is close to Porto Cervo) a very appealing vacation destination.
Whether you're planning on driving, walking or cycling along the Sardinian coast line, hope to go diving to see the amazing under water world, or simply want to relax on the beach, there's 1,850 kilometers of Italian beauty waiting for you in Sardinia.
True Blue and You!
A personal colour analysis will enable you to decide on the exact shades of blue to wear for your colouring and could be the ideal Christmas present for women this year but as it’s such a key colour this season, here are a few tips to get you started.
Lights
The lights are the natural blondes, with fair skin and light blue, grey or green eyes. In general light to medium shades of blue are best for the lights. There is plenty of light sky blue about in soft cashmere sweaters which will suit your colouring beautifully but if you want a brighter statement piece go for a bright true blue, teamed with light greys and silvers. Avoid black with your blue as this will “kill” the look with your delicate colouring. Deep, royal blue is a little deep for your colouring but will work in sheer chiffon or silk.
Deeps
The deeps have dark brown or black hair and dark brown eyes. Bolds shades of blue are very flattering to their own rich colouring, much better than pastel blues which will drain them. If you are a deep go to town with royal blues this season. Large items such as dresses and jackets in true blue will get you noticed for all the right reasons! Team your blue with black for a strong, balanced look.
Warms
The warms have red hair tones, golden or fair, freckled skin and blue, green, hazel or brown eyes. Icy blues will drain them and these should be avoided. Bright aqua that has a warm undertone is one of the best blues that a warm can wear. Medium bright blues will work well but make sure the whole look doesn’t become too cool by wearing blue with cool greys. Instead team your blue with warm neutrals such as brown and oatmeal. If you have blue eyes a bright blue will really bring these out. If your eyes are brown you may prefer to add blue in smaller amounts, in a necklace, belt or boots for example.
Cools
The cools have ash hair tones including ash brown, blonde, grey and white. Their skin has a pink undertone and eyes may be blue, grey, green or clear brown. Most shades of blue, from icy to sky to cornflower to royal, look fantastic on the cools. They really can use blue exactly as they wish, in large bold amounts throughout an outfit or as an accent colour with silvers, greys, navy and black.
Clears
The clears have dark hair colouring, lighter skin and very clear blue, green or topaz eyes. Bright colours are fabulous on clears and really show off their bright, colouring. The bright, jewel-like blues of this season – royal, Chinese and true blue are perfect teamed with light or deep neutrals. The clear woman looks particularly stunning in shiny fabrics such as satin. Patent blue shoes and belt would be ideal accessories as would clear blue earrings or necklace.
