Here are some more information for Gown Style:

Since antiquity, women have distinguished themselves through their fantastic dresses-gowns with deep, luxurious dyes, intricate beading, and bewitching fabrics were symbols of beauty and refined tastes. Cleopatra, with her extravagant costumes, is seen as one of the most ravishing women in history. Women in early Greco-Roman art were depicted wearing tunics belted below the bust and this "empire" waist was later resurrected in France to symbolize the Greek ideals of democracy. The Givenchy designed black dress in the Hollywood movie Breakfast at Tiffany's is as famous as Audrey Hepburn herself. Fashion may not have stayed consistent throughout history, but gowns have enjoyed the same elevated status.
Historical and geographical traditions carry on in today's fashion. One shoulder dresses are made after the Grecian style. Simple and graceful, these dresses embody the beautiful Greek coasts and warm Mediterranean winds. Usually made with loose, light fabrics, these gowns are perfect for summer or spring events. Bodice dresses are adapted from traditional corsets, enhancing the waist while supporting the bust. Strapless options call attention to the delicacy of the collarbone and the gracefulness of the neck, which can be further enhanced with a necklace. In 1840, Queen Victoria wore a white gown to her wedding in order to show off her lace, establishing a new tradition of white wedding gowns that brides would follow around the world. Though Queen Victoria may have changed the color scheme of weddings forever, she did not chance the gown's spirit of luxury and indulgence. Since the Middle Ages, women have used the best fabric for their wedding dresses. Today's wedding gowns are made with the same extravagance, enough to make any woman feel like she's beginning a new life with style. Chinese cheong-sam, or qipao, continue the fashion of the ladies of the East. Traditionally made with silk, these dresses mold to the skin, hugging the figure tightly for a timelessly alluring look.
Dresses from different time periods and different parts of the world all converge in our shops today, giving women more choices than ever before.

Wedding Gowns - What Style to Choose
If you are getting married and looking for the right gown, you have got a tough time ahead! Sure they are all white and whatnot, but there really is a dazzling array of gowns to choose from, a few of these are:
1) The Ball Gown style is a timeless classic. This is the most traditional of all the wedding looks and is still a firm favourite amongst brides-to-be. It is basically a fitted bodice and waistline that then protrudes into a quasi-hoop skirt. Perfect for those traditional type weddings!
2) The Empire is an eye catching style designed to enhance your cleavage. It has a high waistline that comes right under the chest and falls down to a slimmer skirt. This will help you to glide down the aisle and enchant anyone who lays eyes on you!
3) The A-line princess is also a great look. This emphasises flowing vertical lines and is guaranteed to turn heads. This design is perfect for just about any body type.
4) The Sheath Dress is a very fitted dress that will have both the groom and everyone else distracted! This is a more contemporary style that fits all the way down the bodyline.
The great thing about all of these dresses is that you can make any changes you want. While looking good is vital, the emphasis should be on how the dress makes you feel. You want something that truly shows your beauty both in and out. A wedding dress is something that almost every girl dreams of at some point in her life. Because of this you owe it to yourself to pick the dress of your dreams!
While things like cost may be an issue, there is very little reason why you should ever compromise on your dream dress. Set an absolute cost limit and try valiantly to stick to it. However no one is going to blame you if you overspend a little bit!

What style of gown would look better for a girl who has flabby arms and medium framed body?
I shall be having a pictorial in a month wearing formal gown as a requirement in school. I do not think that I would be able to loose weight and lessen the flabiness of my arms in that short span of time. Would you suggest to me gowns that would look better for me? Kindly post pictures also. I am considering of wearing gowns that have dark color, silky texture and the ones with off shoulder style.
Yes!!!!!!
