Even Corelle, the unbreakable dinnerware makers have ventured into making pink dinnerware now, with their beautiful "Impressions Pink" styled dinnerware. It features elegant pink and peach blossoms that are attractively framed in what they call Williamsburg blue, thus creating a style that is both enduring and downright elegant. It is correctly assumed that their fine-looking Pink Trio pattern will easily stand the test of time, as you can never scrub the pattern off.
Other makers of pink dinnerware are Oneida's "Pink and Burgundy" styled dinnerware which feature stylish leaf forms and scrolls in burgundy and of course pink! The set itself is a perfect shade of creamy white, making the burgundy and pink truly stand out in all its glory.
The Homer Laughlin China Company has released pink dinnerware that is absolutely gorgeous, featuring delicate pink violets all around the dinnerware. It makes a splendid statement upon a dinner table.
There is a special Melamine set that comes in 12 pieces that is gorgeous for the lunch table. It features a lovely white background graced with a pink basket weave pattern. The pattern is called "Whim" and Cynthia Rowley makes it
If you can imagine this, there are even incredible pink dinnerware sets made out of the heavy durable ironstone. There are made by Murano Tapestry and they feature an understated floral pattern that is placed on a pink melon-colored background. You will find that this incredible pink dinnerware will dress up your table with energizing style and aplomb.
Moving on to some of the finest earthenware possible in pink dinnerware. Imagine dinnerware that has an old British castle on it, not only showing the different castles but with the name of the castle and the date inscribed below the 18th century landscape. It is a gorgeous old-fashioned look with the historical castles found in a reddish pink shown against an ivory background. Johnson Brothers makes this very enviable dinnerware.
Shopping for some beautiful antique pink dinnerware, you may be tempted by "Currier & Ives" PINK. This is of course vitreous china of the highest quality and was made by Royal China in the 50s. Each of the larger dinner plates are done in a lovely ivory background showing "The Old Grist Mill" in a delicate pink. Salad plates feature "The Birthplace of Washington, and the bread and butter plates feature "Harvest," while tab platters show "The Rocky Mountains." Meanwhile Chop plates, and oval platter plates are also available. There are also creamers, sugar bowls, gravy boats, gravy underplates, butter dishes, covered casserole dishes, teapots, and even salt and pepper shakers available in the pink on ivory.
Thus, if you aspire to owning pink dinnerware, the above is only a highly limited example of what awaits you out there. The choices are entirely astounding, and there is no reason why you should not have both luncheon and dinnerware as well, all in pink. Pink dinnerware will not cost you more than any other color, but if you've set your heart on it, you will certainly have no trouble finding some absolutely fine examples of it, no matter where your taste lies.

The Unique and Distinctive Features of Akoya Pearl Jewelry
It was around the 1920s that the Japanese began farming pearls in earnest and they have been growing in popularity ever since. However; recently the Chinese have began to produce Akoya pearls and Akoya pearl jewelry and they are predicted to dominate the market in time.
This is due to the fact that pearl farming is very labor intensive work and China with its over one-billion residents has plenty of cheap labor to keep a burgeoning pearl industry supplied. Akoya pearl jewelry has to be cared for after it has been purchased due to the fact that pearls are not as durable as other gemstones.
This is because, unlike gemstones that were created deep in the earth under great pressure and heat pearls were created in a living organism, just the same as ivory. Akoya pearl jewelry will last up to one hundred and fifty years or more if it is properly cared for but if not they can deteriorate far more quickly.
They should be kept carefully in their own clothe bag, so they don't get scratched by other jewelry in a jewelry box. Also due to the actual mineral composition of Akoya pearl jewelry, acid in any form is its worst enemy.
Your skin, particularly when you sweat even in minor amounts is slightly acidic and it is because of this fact that Akoya pearl jewelry should be whiped down after it has been worn using a soft cloth. Never use commercial cleaners to clean any type of pearls so you should obtain and use special pearl cleaning agents for this task.

My wedding gown came in Ivory instead of white. It's my first wedding, no children, does it matter that much?
My wedding gown I ordered online is BEAUTIFUL, pure silk, custom/handmade and fits like a glove, but I ordered it in white, and it came as an Ivory/Antique white and I am a little dissapointed. I contacted dying companies, and they said that silk is naturally this color and cannot by dyed. I cannot return the dress or get a refund (believe me, I tried). This is my first marriage, I have no children, and I was looking forward to the traditional white gown, but everyone is telling me that the Ivory is beautiful and old fashion, and that I should just stick with it. Is everyone just trying to make me feel better by telling me to keep the gown? Are there going to be whispers when I walk down the aisle when everyone sees me in ivory instead of white? Is the difference between ivory and white that different? Is the tradition THAT important, or should I just suck it up and stick with this gown? I REALLY love this gown, I am just concerned about it not being pure white = (
Here's something that I found through a google search:
"In modern tradition, the color of western-culture wedding dresses is white. Used in this sense, 'white' or 'wedding white' includes creamy shades such as eggshell, ecru and ivory."
Don't even think of it as an issue. You'll be fine with the ivory. I'm sure you'll look gorgeous (especially if you really love it).... Certainly keep the gown and know that it's considered in the white family. Nobody will question it... as long as you stand tall, have a smile on your face and enjoy your special day!
