Can I dye my wedding dress?
Will dyeing my wedding dress ruin it? It's a J Crew dress made from silk tricotine or something like that. Has anyone had any success with this? I was thinking of hiring a professional as I know it's easy to get splotchy results when dyeing things yourself. I'd really like to hear a success story before I ruin my wedding dress. Thanks!
Natural fibres can be dyed, synthetics cannot. Before you hire the professional check the fibre content of the entire dress (if there is some synthetic in with the silk the dye will not take on the synthetic). Hiring someone is a great idea, and they will be better able to evaluate if the dress can be dyed.
